Profurl Cruising and Racing Furling Systems

Profurl's two new furling system ranges provide superior furling for both cruisers and racers. These strong and lightweight systems feature new removable (except on the C290) drums that are open for line inspection. Made of high impact plastic, the drum can withstand tremendous impact and is resistant to UV and corrosion. By removing the drum, the headsail can be hoisted and set as if on a racing foil. The C290 Cruising model features the same drum, but is not removable. Airfoil extrusions are made lighter and stronger with a special alloy (6106) and incorporate longitudinal ribs for excellent strength/weight. The foil shape is designed for uniform rigidity, aerodynamic performance and smooth even rotation. Profurl’s unique “wrapstop” prevents halyard jamming and wraps around the forestay, eliminating halyard chafe and top bearing fatigue. The stainless luff-rope feeder offers a smoother and easier sail hoist by one crew member and eliminates any possible damage to the sail. The Racing furling systems offer a new swiveling attachment device that replaces head and tack shackles to attach the sail quickly and to furl it perfectly without any distortion. When re-hoisting the sail, just open the new Opening Luff-Rope Prefeeder and close it around the luff without having to remove the headsail. In the closed position this newly designed prefeeder guides the sail perfectly. The swivel and the Opening Luff-Rope Prefeeder are available as options for the Cruising models. Furling line not included.
