P.S.S. (Packless Sealing System) Shaft Seals

A stationary carbon flange is held in contact against a stainless flange, which rotates with the prop shaft. The high-density carbon/graphite flange is attached to the boat by a nitrile bellows which, with the help of water pressure, produces a constant pressure between the carbon and stainless flanges. This mechanical seal is impervious to engine motion and vibration, creating a 100% watertight and maintenance-free seal. 

• Made from space-age carbon composites, heavy-duty nitrile O-rings, nitrile bellows, and Type 316 stainless rotor and fasteners
• Durable, strong, corrosion resistant and unaffected by high temperatures, saltwater, UV radiation and petroleum-based products
• Sizes available help to eliminate bushing the bellows or modifying the stern tube
• Both prop shaft and stern tube (shaft log) diameters are necessary when ordering
• Two types are available: Standard (under 12 knots of boat speed) and High Speed (over 12 knots or water-injected stuffing boxes)
