4' and 6' scanners with 1.8° and 1.1° beamwidths respectively, a 72 nautical mile range and 4 kilowatts of power offer outstanding clarity, precision and target definition. The long open array produces a narrower beam angle for increased bearing resolution, allowing you to discriminate easily between two objects that are close together. You can also overlay the radar image on the Garmin network's moving map cartography display, and split the screen to view mapping and the standard radar page simultaneously. The GMR 406 "big sweep" open array, with its narrower 1.1° beamwidth, enhances target separation so you can see even more detail and definition of what's out there with you while you're on the water.
