Overview of Windscribe. Record breezes as low as 0.4mph or as high as 150mph (0.18-67.2 meters/sec.) Uses patented ultrasonic technology to read current wind speed, maximum headwind and tailwind, five-second average and running average. Responds rapidly. No moving parts—nothing to wear out or break. WindScribe's Ultrasonic Technology: An inaudible audio signal is generated inside the instrument's wind barrel. An ultrasonic sensor picks up the sound. When the wind speed changes, it changes the speed of the sound (the Doppler Effect). A microprocessor keeps track of the changes in value, which are used to give running calculations of wind speed with exceptional accuracy.
