Bluewater ISAF-Approved Life Rafts

We worked closely with Zodiac to introduce our new line of Bluewater Life Rafts to meet the needs of long distance ocean cruisers and racers. Designed for demanding offshore conditions, and with a comprehensive list of features and equipment, these life rafts meet ISO 9650 Type 1 requirements and ISAF Offshore Special Regulations. Outstanding features include dual curved arch support tubes and bright orange canopy that includes a curved zipper and storm flap for ultimate protection from the elements. We’re great believers in life raft doors that zip up so that occupants can vary the amount of protection and ventilation easily, plus it provides an easy way to maintain a watch. Other outstanding features include the following:

• Constructed of three layer, lightweight, nylon/butyl/nylon fabric with glued seams for the utmost in abrasion resistance and durability
• The black inflatable floor insulates occupants against hypothermia
• Floor includes a Zodiac-exclusive self-bailer to rid the raft of any accumulated water
• The automatically inflating boarding ramp makes it far easier for hypothermic or injured victims to board the raft, plus the webbing ladder extends through the interior of the raft for a second means of entry
• Dual self-erecting canopy arch support tubes and nearly vertical sides provide generous headroom and space. Our testing has repeatedly demonstrated the advantage of rafts with headroom adjacent to the perimeter so that occupants are not forced into uncomfortable positions
• Four large ballast bags (4 x 60 liter/63.4 quart) and a generous drogue maximize stability in rough seas
• Compressed air cylinder allows full inflation in temperatures from -15°C-65°C (5°F-149°F)
• Wrap-around webbing inside and out provides a means for victims to stabilize themselves and aids in righting a capsized raft
• The six-sided shape with mitered corners creates stability and provides ample seating room
• Stacked yellow buoyancy tubes provide high freeboard and protection
• Retro- reflective tapes on canopy, arch and bottom
• SART and EPIRB holders at the entrance
• Automatic light attached to arch
• Safety knife with lanyard strategically located by door
• Non-fouling drogue with stainless steel swivel and 30m of line and a rescue quoit
• Paddles
