All marine starters must be ignition protected to prevent explosion. Sierra's
new and remanufactured starters are the only marine starters that meet Marine UL
standards. Our starters also meet International standards as required by the
European Community. Sierra's remanufactured starters all have new solenoids,
drives, bushings, brushes and springs. The bodies are powder coated for greater
corrosion resistance. Sierra has entered an agreement with United Technologies
to market their complete line of outboard starters and components. UT currently
is the OEM supplier to Mercury and OMC for outboard starters.
