It also features one of the largest LCD displays and a sizable rotary knob for quick tuning access at the spin of a dial, making channel selection fast and easy. It has a powerful built-in 30W hailer and accepts an optional COMMANDMIC II or the new COMMANDMIC III that performs all radio functions available in remote locations. Built-in Class D DSC watch function monitors Ch 70 (DSC channel) activity, even while you are on another channel. DSC uses a unique ID (MMSI code) similar to a telephone number, allowing you to make contact with a specific boater or group of boaters in your area. Use the hand microphone as part of a public address system onboard or to shore through an external loud speaker or hailer.
