Water Pumps The water pump is the heart of your inboard or I/O cooling system. All Sierra pumps are bidirectional and can be installed on reverse rotation engines. The Failsafe Insulator, with features similar to the other Hi-Mod fittings, uses an internal ball socket in the main body which threads onto the connecting stud. The nut is insulated by a Tufnol™ socket, isolating the antenna from the opposite terminal. While the backstay will loosen, the insulating studs will stay attached to the insulator body, allowing the rig to be re-tensioned until a repair can be made.
