Retail Facilities Specialist

Job Description

The Retail Facilities Specialist is responsible for the daily interaction and supports the maintenance and repairs program for all retail stores in U.S. Canada and Puerto Rico including contracting and invoicing associated with contractors and national/regional maintenance vendors. Tracks routine service requests to ensure they are completed in a timely manner. Maintains the Service Channel facilities management system to oversee service calls, vender schedules, invoicing, reporting and vendor evaluation and compliance. This position is responsible for solving day to day maintenance issues, with an emphasis on strong customer service and timely response to the concerns and needs of the customer. Development of standards, service level agreements and best practices. As necessary, prepare RFP's for preventative maintenance contracts, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts pertaining to maintenance programs and interacts with Real Estate and landlords on behalf of West Marine to resolve facilities related issues. Supports Store Development revitalization and refresh projects. Respond to emergency situations as required on a 24 hour, 7 day basis.


3 to 5 years in retail facilities management field. Broad range of technical skills and responsibilities including all interior and exterior repairs including but not limited to HVAC systems, electrical and power systems, lighting systems, plumbing systems, fire protection and safety systems, utility systems, trash/waste management, facilities improvements, etc. Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints and contract documents. Knowledge of facilities work order and processing applications. Ability to manage budgets and forecast, provide reporting on capital and expense projects. Coordinate scheduling and monitor day to day vendor performance and issue resolution. Ability to manage vendors for facilities repair and maintenance. Prepare RFP's for repair/maintenance and troubleshoot technical issues as necessary. Ability to work independently in a high stress, multi task environment. Motivated, customer service oriented.
