Big tube of Life Caulk is totally worth the extra money. Easier to use than the toothpaste tube, lasts quite a while before the open tube kicks and hardens. The caulk gets on everything fast so have paper towels handy! Perfect for bedding deck fitting. I've used this for 30 years.

BoatLife warranties this product for ONE YEAR from its date of manufacture. The problem with that is that while the date code is stamped on the cartridges, the codes aren't obvious, therefore you need a cipher to decode it.
The other issue is that old product ends up being sold well after it's unlisted "expiration" because retailers have no way to easily rotate stock, or stock isn't sold quickly enough.
These issues resulted in me having to throw away two-thirds of a cartridge because it was already cured in the cartridge.
Additioanlly, it was impossible to maintain a reasonable bead while using the product, even when "pushing" it as the manufacturer recommends.
One-third of the way through the cartridge, the product became like rubber and simply couldn't be used.
Recommendations if you decide to buy and use these products:
- make sure you are well aware of BoatLife's lengthy laundry list of "must do's" to make this product actually work
- verify with BoatLife when the product was manufactured
- use a pneumatic caulking gun when possible for larger jobs

    Comments about Life-Calk Sealant:

Don't waste your money on the tube. The quality of it is horrendous. It will split in several locations and becomes a mess and won't be able to be stored for future use. Pay the few dollars more for the cartridge. The product is very good though.

I don't know what it's made of but it really works. It smells kind of like road tar or blacktop. There is a reason they named it LIFE caulk.
