      Comments about Spinnaker Sleeve:

I am ordering my second ATN sock for my Cal 40 in a Hawaii race. There is one school of thought that socks are the way to go. Stan Honey is a very successful advocate of that point of view. This product, with the snuffer line lead back to the cockpit, is the best way to reduce sail at night when a sudden squall hits the singlehanded sailor. Combine this with a spinnaker net for freedom from wraps.

If you are looking for a spinnaker sock, ATN makes the best ones!

        Comments about Spinnaker Sleeve:

The ATN spinnaker sock is a great addition to cruising gear along with your regular symmetrical spinnaker or the cruisers asymmetrical spinnaker. I've used used the ATN sock for years on different boats and spins and it works great. The named sailmakers all crafted their spin socks based on this one but this is the original and it works well. A necessity for short handed sailing, it really is easy to deploy and douse your spin. Not sure how the other reviewer could not get it to work but there is no sailing upwind with a spinnaker which he mentions as the problem. Great customer service from the originator whose name is Etienne, as in ATN. And he's here in Florida!

          Comments about ATN Spinnaker Sleeve:

These things are not particularly helpful, and they add just one more thing to snag and go wrong in the process of spinnaker handling. If something snags up high, you can no longer sail because the spinnaker fouls when you go upwind, leaving you to cut it down or climb the mast, and be quick about it before you run aground. Instead, learn to deploy and stow the spinnaker properly; it can be done single-handed. I had one of these; it seemed like a good idea and I didn't listen to more experienced sailors who said to remove it. It worked a few times but in the end I almost lost a spinnaker to it. Lines everywhere. Half an hour to untangle. I removed it promptly with no regrets.
