Comments about Common Hot Feed Fuse Blocks:

I am an ABYC electrician with three decades of experience. This is one of the worst products on the market and has no place in a boat. In fact, it has no place anywhere but the trash can. The day of the glass vial fuse is about over. Fuse values are difficult to read, they shatter, and the contacts are exposed. The alloy clasps holding fuses in place weaken and break off. There is no cover so accidental shorts can be a problem. Use Blue Sea fuse panels using ATO/ATC fuses with covers. Much better, more reliable, safe product and very simple to use.

I have removed and replaced many of these Cole-Hersee fuse holders over the years. I used to save them to give to sailboat guys on a tight budget but the product is so poorly designed I realized it was not doing anyone a favor and only putting people and boats at risk. Now they all go in the trash.
