Comments about Mens Silver Ridge Cargo Pants:
I bought a pair of these pants at the Honolulu WestMarine store last month when I was shopping for supplies for an upcoming inter island cruise. I usually wear shorts when sailing in the islands, but I wanted something that would protect my legs from the sun, and offer some protection from the elements when the weather changes. These pants fit the bill perfectly! They kept the Hawaiian sun from burning my legs, and they were very handy when the weather got colder in the afternoon. They also performed well as we crossed the Molokai Channel and were soaked more than once by heavy swells and thirty knot winds. They make a great intermediate step between shorts and putting on my bib overalls when the weather gets wet. I found them to dry quickly after a soaking, and still look great at the sunset BBQ with other boats we met in Hale O Lono Harbor. I got a lot of compliments on their looks, with a few people asking me if I "always sail in my slacks?" In fact, I decided to wear them this morning here at the Hawaii Yacht Club, and a couple of my fellow members asked if I was going someplace special since I was "all dressed up."
These are great pants, and I am looking forward to buying more of them in different colors. I plan to wear them for both sailing, and as part of my live-aboard wardrobe.
