Comments about Garmin GPS 72H Handheld GPS with Marine Value Pack:

Bought this model to replace a Garmin E Trec basic unit. Serves me well for my particular needs, it's a simple model, so don't expect color display, or sophisticated software found on more expensive GPS. You get what you paid for...

Comments about Garmin GPS 72H Handheld GPS with Marine Value Pack:

For a basic handheld without a chartplotter, this is the gold standard. It's accurate, easily legible, and bulletproof. Highly recommended.

This GPS is not very useful. Cannot see your way points and plotting a course is almost impossible. Would not buy this product given a second chance. Garmin really blew it.

Comments about Garmin GPS 72H Handheld GPS with Marine Value Pack:

I bought this as a replacement for my entry level Garmin handheld and was very surprised to see that it did not have any charting available. It works great but I like to be able to see visually where I am on a map and this one does not have that capability.

the software in the older Garmin 120 and Garmin 12 was easily accessed. Tracks were clear and comprehensive. Garmin's newer GPS models, not so much.

Comments about Garmin GPS 72H Handheld GPS with Marine Value Pack:

I have only tried this at home so far. Not nearly so easy to figure out the algorithms as my two older Magellen GPS but easier to figure out than the Garmin, Oregon, purchased last year.

Garmin really should spend more time and effort on their instructions!
