    Comments about Diaphragm Pumps:

I installed one of these on my Ericson 38 in 1984 to replace noisy/poor Shur-Flo model. I think I replaced it once since then. The weakness is in the pressure sensing switch, which may need to be replaced every 5 years or so, and you have to special order it.

Pump can overheat and burn out

    Comments about Diaphragm Pumps:

This pump is self priming as it is a diaphram type, which is good. What is bad is mine overheated, and stopped after about 30 minutes of pumping. The motor was burned out. The plastic labels on the top of the motor were melted. It appears not to be thermally protected. This is not the pump I would rely on to manage a continuous leak.
