A full-featured SUP that's longer than 10 feet inflated, yet fits in the space of a large duffel bag!
And you can only get it from West Marine!
Stiff enough for flat water or surf, the Scout Seeker Inflatable SUP from Jimmy Styks features a drop-stitched, high-pressure design with rigidity practically equal to that of an epoxy board! Remove the SUP from its tote, unfold it, attach the high-pressure hand pump and in a few minutes you'll be ready to launch and head off on your next adventure! Stable and easy to paddle, the Seeker makes a versatile addition for those that value the ability to pack it away in a small space for storage or transportation over the maneuverability of a surf-style board or the performance of a racing SUP.
Construction
Based on the construction materials and techniques of military-grade inflatable boats, the Scout Seeker Inflatable SUP is constructed of nylon and PVC. The drop-stitch core consists of a top and bottom fabric layer held together by an array of nylon “tethers.” The strength of the tethers within the structure allow the cavity to hold high levels of pressure while maintaining form and rigidity. The drop-stitch structure is then encased in double layers of seam-welded PVC. The result is a remarkably stiff and light collapsible board that can be taken anywhere.
Deck
The large traction pad provides a comfortable, nonslip platform for you to paddle your Scout Seeker Inflatable SUP. An integrated bungee strapping system up front gives you an easy-to-access spot for your cooler and other essentials. There's also a handy D-ring at the back of the board to attach your leash.
Volume
When deciding on an SUP, you'll want to choose a board with adequate volume. This can be the difference between gliding smoothly across the surface or spending your time fighting that very real sinking feeling! Proper volume is influenced by two key variables with an SUP: combined rider and cargo weight, plus skill level. With a volume of 229 liters, the recommended weight limit for the Scout Seeker Inflatable SUP is 270 pounds for those with a beginner or novice skill level. Experienced paddlers may find they can even exceed this recommended weight limit!
Shape
Wide, straight and extra thick, the Scout Seeker provides a stable ride in a variety of water conditions.
Rocker
Rocker refers to the upward "bending" of the nose and tail when the board is lying flat. Boards have varying degrees of rocker depending on the board type. The modest 4" nose rocker on the Scout Seeker Inflatable SUP keeps the board above the water surface for cruising through wind chop. The lack of a tail rocker (no upward bend) makes the board more forgiving and improves balance for beginners.
Remember to order a life jacket (sold separately) so you'll return safely to paddle another day!
