Product Description

A full-featured SUP that's longer than 10 feet inflated, yet fits in the space of a large duffel bag!

And you can only get it from West Marine!

Stiff enough for flat water or surf, the Seeker Inflatable SUP from Jimmy Styks features a drop-stitched, high-pressure design with rigidity practically equal to that of an epoxy board! Remove the SUP from its tote, unfold it, attach the high-pressure hand pump and in a few minutes you'll be ready to launch and head off on your next adventure! Stable and easy to paddle, the Seeker makes a versatile addition for those that value the ability to pack it away in a small space for storage or transportation over the maneuverability of a surf-style board or the performance of a racing SUP.

Construction

Based on the construction materials and techniques of military-grade inflatable boats, the Seeker Inflatable SUP is constructed of nylon and PVC. The drop-stitch core consists of a top and bottom fabric layer held together by an array of nylon “tethers.” The strength of the tethers within the structure allow the cavity to hold high levels of pressure while maintaining form and rigidity. The drop-stitch structure is then encased in double layers of seam-welded PVC. The result is a remarkably stiff and light collapsible board that can be taken anywhere.

Deck

The large traction pad provides a comfortable, nonslip platform for you to paddle your Seeker Inflatable SUP. An integrated bungee strapping system up front gives you an easy-to-access spot for your cooler and other essentials. There's also a handy D-ring at the back of the board to attach your leash.

Volume

When deciding on an SUP, you'll want to choose a board with adequate volume. This can be the difference between gliding smoothly across the surface or spending your time fighting that very real sinking feeling! Proper volume is influenced by two key variables with an SUP: combined rider and cargo weight, plus skill level. With a volume of 229 liters, the recommended weight limit for the Seeker Inflatable SUP is 270 pounds for those with a beginner or novice skill level. Experienced paddlers may find they can even exceed this recommended weight limit!

Shape

Wide, straight and extra thick, the Seeker provides a stable ride in a variety of water conditions.

Rocker

Rocker refers to the upward "bending" of the nose and tail when the board is lying flat. Boards have varying degrees of rocker depending on the board type. The modest 4" nose rocker on the Seeker Inflatable SUP keeps the board above the water surface for cruising through wind chop. The lack of a tail rocker (no upward bend) makes the board more forgiving and improves balance for beginners.

Remember to order a life jacket (sold separately) so you'll return safely to paddle another day!

This is a great board and over all I'm super happy with it. As far as I can tell, this is one of the best deals out there. For reference, I'm a 5'8", 160 lb woman in her late twenties and was 7 months post caesarean delivery as far as physical condition goes.

It inflates surprisingly quickly... I was prepared for a long haul but it was ready to go in no time! I can pump it up on my own but the last few psi are very difficult and I usually get my husband to do that bit. The valve works really well and there's no leakage. Once inflated it's nearly totally rigid: there's just enough give to make it easy on your feet, but not enough to affect usability.

It's heavy, but I can carry it around well enough. The handle in the centre is a little hard on the fingers, but it's totally doable for short distances. It's a little tricky to roll up but once you've got it, it packages well and the carry bag has shoulder straps with a chest clip so it's easy to pack around.

I found it pretty easy to use. After a little practicing on my knees with the paddle shortened, I was able to stand. My husband was able to stand right away but he's always had better balance/coordination than I do, never mind my diastatis recti. The bungees and d-rings are great to have and I wouldn't recommend a board without them. I also love that this has such a high upper weight limit: I definitely want the kid to be able to sit on the front in another year or two.

My only real complaint is that the paddle doesn't float. This seems like a massive oversight. We use the leash to attach it to the board just in case, but we will probably replace it at some point.

Also, the pin to attach the fin was super secure... Enough so that it was tricky to detach when we were packing up. We replaced it with one with a quick-release retainer from the hardware store for a few bucks.

Anyways, I love this board and have already recommended it to several people. Big fan!

The pump gauge does not work so you don't know how much air you have put in. When we blew it up for the first time in our living room, we noticed the stitching on the side is coming apart. The strap on the bag broke immediately. Also the paddle that comes with it is pretty heavy. This is one of the least expensive inflatable SUP packages and there is a reason why! I hope West Marine backs their return guarantee because unfortunately it is going back!

Comments about Jimmy Styks 10'6" Seeker Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboard Package:

Bought this for myself and my kids to use at our lake cabin. We are not very large people - I'm 5 ft 8 in and weight 145. Very easy to inflate but the last 3 PSI needed to get to the recommended pressure is a little difficult but doable. Once on the water I liked the fact that the deck is wide and the footing is very good. Easy to get going on flat water and when you encounter wake the SUP is still pretty stable. Only drawback is the paddle doesn't float so I cut a 12 inch section of a float noodle and taped it to the paddle, problem solved. We are enjoying this SUP and would recommend it.

Comments about Jimmy Styks 10'6" Seeker Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboard Package:

Actually bought this for my daughter. We had only been on regular hard SUP and we were very impressed with the strength and support of this inflatable SUP. Reasonably easy for my daughter to handle by herself.

Comments about Jimmy Styks 10'6" Seeker Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboard Package:

I'm giving this 4 stars only because of the rather low quality paddle that came with it. Otherwise, even though there are better inflatables built - ie, more rigid at 15 psi, and smoother lines, - you need to pay the higher price point for those upgrades. For the money, this inflatable seems very well built. Pump works good. Nice that it comes with a carry bag. Happy with this purchase.

Comments about Jimmy Styks 10'6" Seeker Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboard Package:

I bought this just last week, and I've not yet been on it myself. However, we had lots of family at the house for Memorial Day and everyone was using it - from children to adults (someone had to man the grill). Everyone loved it and commented how stable it is. The kids loved paddling it around the bay, too. Seems like a good quality board and the paddle is lightweight. The inflation was pretty easy, but, I did break a sweat - the last few psi require some effort. The directions were easy to follow as well. I like the fact that this board came as a complete package - all in one box, making the purchase convenient. So far, so good. At this point I would certainly recommend this paddleboard.

Bought one of these last year and brought it to Mexico... love it in the marina and even into the ocean on a good day. Got great advice from our local West Marine store... we had bought some inflatable kayaks from them a couple of years ago... still going strong! So we considered an inflatable sup... we are so glad we did! so easy to haul around and in- or de-flate.
Buying another one this year!!! :)

We first saw a SUP at Lake Powell this past summer and wanted to try one out. The weekly rental cost is the same as the purchase price for this SUP!! We're looking forward to trying this paddleboard out this next season. We have a cabin cruiser, so having an inflatable SUP will allow us to easily store it on board between trips to the lake.
