Product Description

System uses patented solid-state electronic Mirus™ detector cells to accurately measure and display fluid levels inside gray, fresh and black water holding tanks. Sensors measure the fluid levels through any non-metallic tank wall by using a unique low impedance differential electrical field. Sensors avoid the common problem of misreading debris buildup on the inside tank wall that affects all capacitive sensor based systems. No calibration required. “Plug and Go” wiring, “Peel and Stick” sensors. Includes four sensors per tank for three holding tanks. Panel: 3-1/2"H x 5-1/2"W. One-year warranty. Not for use with fiberglass tanks.

Comments about Johnson Pump SensaTank Marine 100 Tank Monitoring Kit:

After installing the sensors on the tanks and connecting the cables, I tested the system and it worked great. I went ahead and tied down the cables and finished everything off, but the unit emitted a buzzing sound and blanked out when I tested the final installation. I contacted the support hotline and the service rep helped me troubleshoot the unit and I ultimately discovered a wire damaged by a sheet metal screw protruding from the bulkhead. After a quick repair the system worked perfectly! I don't recall the service rep's name, but he was most helpful and friendly. This product performs exactly as advertised.

Comments about Johnson Pump SensaTank Marine 100 Tank Monitoring Kit:

Earlier this week I installed SensaTank Marine 100 monitors on my holding and freshwater tanks. (The kit includes 3 sets of sensors, so I've got one in reserve.) Installation went smoothly but the read-outs are clearly erroneous: Both tanks are nearly empty, but the FW tank reads 3/4 and the holding tank FULL.
Instructions were clear in that sensors must not be stuck on more than 15" apart (but on my Nordic Tug 26 this would be impossible anyway.) I'm wondering if the close spacing required for my small tanks (~2" separation) could be causing the problem? If so, would mounting alternate sensors around the corner on other faces of the tanks help? Or does anyone have other suggestions? (I'm still trying to contact product support from the manufacturer but no luck yet.)
I'll adjust my rating from 3-star to something else when this issue is resolved.
