The Elite CHIRP Series includes all of the proven features of the Elite HDI Series with the addition of CHIRP Sonar technology—providing greater sensitivity, improved target resolution, and superior noise rejection for clearer, easy-to-use baitfish and gamefish targets.

Elite-7 CHIRP Fishfinder/Chartplotter is a 7" diagonal combo that harnesses CHIRP Sonar with DownScan Imaging™. CHIRP sonar makes it easier to identify and distinguish bait and gamefish targets, provides better target identification at greater depths, and allows you to mark fish clearly at faster boat speeds—and comes pre-packaged with Navionics® Gold cartography featuring U.S./Canada/Alaska and Bahamas coastal, Great Lakes and major Canadian lakes detail.

Highly accurate built-in GPS antenna plus detailed US map: Featuring more than 3,000 lakes and rivers, Lowrance technology allows you to create your own map from real sonar data that you record with Insight Genesis™ (200kHz recommended for sonar recording). Optional chart upgrades include Lake Insight™ and Nautic Insight™ PRO, as well as HD, Navionics® Gold and Jeppessen C-Map Max-N.

Combined CHIRP sonar with DownScan Imaging Technology: DownScan Imaging™ provides picture-like images of fish-holding structure beneath your boat. Display CHIRP Sonar and DownScan Imaging in split-screen view, or combine them in full-screen mode using DownScan Overlay™.

Advanced fishfinding plus ease of use: TrackBack™ to rewind recorded sonar history including structure, transitions or fish targets, then pinpoint locations with a waypoint (on chartplotter models). Page Selector menu provides quick access to all features using one-thumb operation, and multi-window display lets you quickly choose from pre-set page layouts—including a three-panel view with chart, CHIRP sonar options and DownScan Imaging.

How Multiple CHIRP sonar settings provide clarity

Multiple CHIRP ranges from a single transducer: Because Lowrance fishfinders give you the option of using more than one CHIRP Sonar signal, it’s important to understand which one is right for your fishing situation.

High CHIRP frequency selection: Most frequently used for freshwater as well as more shallow coastal areas. It provides the greatest detail for tracking smaller objects, like your lure, or identifying game fish from bait fish, as well as game fish that are near structure or on the bottom.

Medium CHIRP frequency selection: Wide coverage makes this frequency best for covering large areas while searching for structure or fish. However, this option is not as detailed as High CHIRP and will not penetrate as deep as Low CHIRP.

Low CHIRP frequency selection: Provides the greatest depth performance, while marking fish targets throughout the entire water column.

Fantastic Product. My fishing has gotten 1000% better since using the elite 7 chirp. Downscale works really well and with the chirp feature its super clear whats below the boat. Works right out of the box and super clear instructions on how to setup the product. I turned mine on and with a bit of adjustment to the transducer I was running within minutes. Caught the biggest bass of my fishing career within an hour. I am able to plot and save waypoints and see structure so clearly. This is my first fish finder and I am glad I picked this one.

The Navionics charts load extremely slow. Anytime you zoom in or out it the screen goes blank for 30 secs and then the chart will load. It gets even worse if you have sonar and map at the same time. It seems the CPU in the device is underpowered and cannot process the data fast enough. The device also takes a long time to boot. Sometimes it gets stuck with the chart not loading and rebooting helps, but the reboot process is several minutes. Again, a sign that the CPU is underpowered. This unit is much slower than my old LCX-20C that it replaced. So I'm not impressed with the "upgrade".

Do not upgrade if your unit is working OK

By DaveR

Comments about Lowrance Elite-7 CHIRP Fishfinder/Chartplotter with Navionics Gold—No Transducer:

The unit worked well until I did an upgrade and then that's where the trouble started, the chart plotter became slow and even gave a blank screen until the processor caught up, the directing set to heading up did not correct until well after I had altered course to the point that I had nearly gone off screen. Don't use it with high chrip as the plotter will go blank although the chirp seems to do what they claim you just wont know where you are until the unit catches up!!!!!! Navico are trying to resolve it but that's all I am being told and having spokebn to staff at the boat show all they want to do if fob you off and get you off the stand . One piece of advice if its working DONT UPGRADE IT.

Elite- 7 HDI

By HurricaneSpearFisher

from Palm Harbor, FL, United States

Comments about Lowrance Elite-7 CHIRP Fishfinder/Chartplotter with Navionics Gold—No Transducer:

Have an Elite -5 that has been perfect and reliable right next to my new Elite-7 HDI. The Elite-7 HDI shuts off when I start the motor while the Elite 5 does not. The Speed Over Ground is 5 MPH different than my Elite 5? Switching from page to page is incredibly slow, and flipping back to chart plotter takes several seconds to load again- VERY FRUSTRATING when your running and trying to figure out where you are- especially if you have SONAR on- OMG. Horribly slow. Page switch delays and then you end up in the wrong page. GPS accuracy varies to my Elite 5 as well.?? Lastly, taking the 7 off and on the bracket is a pain compared to the quick connect the 5 has. When you are fishing and shutting off motor at each spot and having the Elite 7 re-boot- very frustrating. Unfortunately disappointing. Should have bought another Elite 5 with Chirp or HDI. Downscan is really cool though.

could be better for cost

Comments about Lowrance Elite-7 CHIRP Fishfinder/Chartplotter with Navionics Gold—No Transducer:

i bought this unite when it first came out . since then I have had several problems and a few reoccurring problems.. I lose depth a lot and have to stop the boat and rest unit or I give a depth different to what I am in . each time I have done a sw update the problem seems fixed for a few weeks then its back .. because of this I am very weary on purchasing a gen 2 or gen 3 touch to upgrade .. only reason I would recommend to anyone is there reputation and there tech department

Almost perfect

Comments about Lowrance Elite-7 CHIRP Fishfinder/Chartplotter with Navionics Gold—No Transducer:

I bought my elite 7x chirp this spring. I absolutely love it for marking fish, bait and the bottom. Although after about 4 hours the unit freezes up and I have to restart the unit. I shouldn't have to do this with a brand new Lowrance...overall I do love it, just wish I didn't have to restart it all the time.

Slow Processor

By Dave1

from Vacaville, CA

Comments about Lowrance Elite-7 CHIRP Fishfinder/Chartplotter with Navionics Gold—No Transducer:

I bought the Elite 7 Chirp with the Navionics Gold chip as a package at the ISE in Sacramento earlier this year. I like the graphics and content. The sonar and DSI seems to work great. However, when traveling and moderate speed 30mph or less, the map tracking feature does not keep up and does not refresh fast enough. Basically, the mapping is useless when motoring. This needs to be fixed and I am dissappointed.
