Horrible design and mounting

Comments about Lowrance Transducer Only for LSS-2 StructureScan HD:

Have had this for 2 seasons and first season the unit became loose after me tightening the bolts as much as possible. The next season the unit broke the 2 bolts 1/2 way inside my transom leaving me with 2 holes that I have to fix and patch. Who knows how much water has gotten inside the transom already. The unit is about 9 inches long and is just way too long for the bracket. Think of a 9" piece of plastic sticking out of the transom bouncing around in the water and you get a terrible lever system. What were these guys thinking of with this design. First year the unit just loosen the nuts and bolts. I'm real careful tightening things and following instructions. When the unit works its fine but you have to figure out a way to get the unit attached to the boat. There customer service is a marathon on hold session so good luck. Look else where for a unit.
