The auto generator start (AGS) controller will start the generator when battery levels drop close to the low voltage shut down to prevent a disruption in the AC supply. Compatible with most generators, this controller is designed to work in conjunction with and requires a magnum remote control (sold separately). Basic features are available using a ME-RC remote control; more advanced features are available with a ME-ARC remote control.
When combined with a ME-RC remote the AGS can be adjusted to start up when battery voltage drops to a preset level. With the included cabin temperature sensor, the AGS will start up the generator (based on ambient temperature) in anticipation of higher loads that result for air conditioners. You will be able to return to a nice cool boat without having to worry about battery levels.
With the ME-ARC remote there are many more programmable features available. In addition to low voltage and cabin temperature features, the AGS can be programmed to run at certain times of the day to compensate for expected AC loads, start up when battery state of charge reaches a certain level or when amperage draw reaches higher levels. The AGS can also be programmed for maximum run time to prevent prolonged generator operation in the event of a failed battery cell or other system fault.
