Comments about Mercury Marine Yellow Floating Prop Wrench, 1-1/16 Model Q-4:

I use this wrench at least one each year to remove the prop and grease the splines on the shaft. I also use it to install a spare prop while out boating if I damage the prop by hitting something. I read the review from the guy who stripped his the first time he used it. The prop is not supposed to be tightened so much that you could strip this tool! If the tab ring is properly installed, the nut cannot loosen after installation. Just snug it down, bend the tabs in place and it's fine; this tool does exactly what it needs to do. It is weather proof, easily used both in and out of the water, and floats in case you drop it in the water. The hook on the end makes working with the tab ring a breeze. I keep this wrench on board at all times; a must-have tool.

Comments about Mercury Marine Yellow Floating Prop Wrench, 1-1/16 Model Q-4:

Since it's not a torque wrench, I might have overtightened the nut too much and stripped it the first time I used it. Yes, it worked, but now I will buy a metal one for periodic prop maintenance at home and buy another one of these for one time out on the water emergency prop change. If your going to buy just one, go for the metal one.
