This radio is mounted in my 20' center console. It recieves and transmit excellent at long ranges but after six months the internal speaker quit working. I took it back and without problem recieved a replacement at the store. The new one has worked fine for a month now and I hope it continues to do so.

Replaced my 15 year old vhf with this new DSC unit to interface with my Garmin chartplotter. It works great. It would be nice to have a larger display, but most radios in this price range have basically the same display. Larger displays are available in units twice the price.

I can't see the small numbers without getting up close to the radio,, difficult to program,, weather alert has to be programed in every time it is turned on,,can't turn off the speaker in the radio while using a remote speaker, very waterproof, nice mic,,good price
