Absolutely incredible to me that the Rule Company sells such woefully inadequate switch
Pros
- Easy To Install
Cons
Best Uses
Installed new a few months ago with a new Rule pump. Just found bilge pump running with bilge dry, float lying flat on the hull. Tapped on it and pump stopped. Exercised the switch but still failing. Simple device should last till we die. Check the reviews and stay clear of this item.
Pros
- Easy To Install
- Fit my shower sump
Cons
- Only worked a month
- Useless as a sump switch
Best Uses
AS with both Rule float switches that I replaced, this one worked for only a month before the ball stopped rolling smoothly enough to make contact. I assumed it oxidized enough not roll on its own. If I lift the switch above the shower sump cover, it will work but that makes it useless for keeping the bilge from filling with shower water. This switch was located in a shower sump that does NOT receive AC condensate so it got litlle use. The other switch was in a complete shower sump assembly with AC condensate and worked for 6-7 months before it stopped working altogether. I think I'll try a cheaper switch as they seem to work as well.
the float does not always work. I had to replace the switch several time. because the floats have fails. the only the float works is by raising it by hand. save your money dont buy this product!
