This tiller is adequate for use until I can obtain/make the correct one. The varnish finish is quite delicate and dings easily. I had to laminate shims on the end to make the 1.5 inch width.

Great quality and workmenship. It was a couple of inches longer then the original but this proved to be an advantage not a hinderance. [...] It was tested two days later when I ended up in the worst storm I had ever been in. It has proved to be a beautiful addition to my boat.

If you have a drill press the bolt hole is no problem. To fit the receiver on my rudder stock (Precision 23), I had to shave a little off both sides of the mounting block end. Easy to do with a table saw and a fence. Then I added another coat of UV resistant varnish to protect the exposed wood and add another layer to the rest of the tiller. I took a piece of delaminated teak veneer with me in case I needed a very thin shim to snug up the mounting when installed. Last one lasted 7 years. Looking for 10 from is one!
