Comments about West Marine Manual Bilge Pumps:
Pumps well but after a year the hose breaks again and again. Have to replace the hose to make it useful unless you want to pump into a bucket and toss it overboard.

Great product to use for bailing a wooden skiff. Had an old hand pump that was worn out, the new one pumps more water and gets the job done quicker.

Comments about West Marine Manual Bilge Pumps:
I purchased this pump to clear out the standing water in the bilge at the prop shaft which the bilge pump could not reach. The forst one of these lasted over 3 years with regular use until the handle broke. My local West Marine exchanged it with no hassle. The second one continues to work fine. At first the hose would not stay in the pump and it dripped a lot, I took a 1" PVC fitting, inserted it into the hose, installed the hose then secured it with a hose clamp - problem solved! No more leaks and the hose never came out.
Pros
- Durable
- Easy to take up water
- Easy to use
Cons
- Maybe a longer hose

Comments about West Marine Manual Bilge Pumps:
I have two for my daysailer. Perfect. I get water ocassionally from waves over the bow and spray when riding the rail on a tack and these do the trick really well. My boat developed a leak in the cockpit drain so I got a fair amount of water the in the spring and this got the job done in a hurry. On another boat we developed a leak from a crack in the hull from a little dispute the keel had with the boatramp and were getting a fair amount of water inside but this pump kept us dry and afloat. Great product. I own two.
