TruPlug Emergency Plug
A hole in your hull below the waterline or a catastrophic leak in a thru-hull fitting could sink your boat in seconds. For example, a 2" hole in your boat only 1' below the waterline would jet in enough water to fill a 55 gallon drum in 40 seconds, and a typical bilge pump would be overwhelmed. TruPlug is a solution to stop the water, and a big improvement over tapered wood plugs. TruPlug is a temporary emergency plug that can prevent flooding from a circular, oval, or irregular hole caused by maintenance failure or hull breach due to impact. A tapered circular cone-shaped plug made of a proprietary foam formulation, TruPlug is a spongy solid, coated with a flexible sealer, suitable for holes up to 4" in diameter. Dimensions: 9"H x 4.75" diameter at base. Weight: 3.9 oz. 2010 winner of SAIL Magazine's Innovation Award.
