Comments about West Marine Boaters Polyester Resin:
Ruined my project with this stuff. Dont follow the mixing direction on the can, you have to use your own judgement. My resin cured within 5 minutes after adding hardener. After waisting half of a gallon and whole bunch of cussing, i decided to use the directions of my generic BONDO brand resin, which was 10 drops per ounce(4 ounces at a time). After that everything went smooth. So if you buying this product ,beware ,you will have many problems at first untill you figure it out.

Comments about West Marine Boaters Polyester Resin:
followed directions and had about one minute working time. I have used other resins in the same way, same temperature and had 30 minutes or more working time.
Pros
- Very hard when cured
Cons
- Difficult to Use

was working on repairing floor of a double hull boat and had to replace a large piece of wood. Used this epoxy instead of the west system 105. you are suppose to use a specific amount of hardener based on the "air temp" I did as directed and the first time it set up 2 min. Needless to say it is good but hard to judge the amount of hardener. I do not believe it is based on air temp but surface temp. For the price it is fine.
Pros
- Easy to Use
- Protects Well
- Visually Pleasing
- Weather Proof

I've worked with polyester resins on and off for thirty years.Your resin perfomed as well as any I've ever used.
I don't know what Sean's problem was with it,
he probably didn't know what he was doing.
Pros
- Easy to Use
- Exactly as described
Cons
Best Uses
- Outdoor
- Quick Fix
Use exactly the amount of hardener as directed.
I dunno if I'd use this to build a boat, but for everything I HAVE used it for it's worked well and the price is sure right. Hint: unless you really need it to set up fast, use less hardener...
Bad experience ,had to remove the coat I laid and start over w/new product !!!! NEVER BUY AGAIN!!!
Does the repair job o.k.
