#62 Two-Speed Stainless Steel Self-Tailing Winch, Convertible to Electric

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of sailing or racing aboard a boat equipped with Andersen winches, then you know you really can feel the difference when uncompromising quality is built in. These stainless-steel winches are smooth, quiet, efficient, and easy to use. They combine Andersen’s famous Power Rib drum surface, which generates horizontal friction, with a highly polished surface to minimize vertical friction, so the rope slides easily up the drum. The self-tailing system adjusts automatically to accommodate various rope diameters. The self-tailing arms are curved to give a fair lead, so friction is minimized.

Pawls are made from unbreakable cold-pressed 316 stainless-steel bar. Lightweight stainless drums, combined with aluminum bronze internal construction, results in a winch that actually weighs the same or less than aluminum winches of similar size. Aluminum bronze base plates are twice as strong as standard bronze, giving a light, stiff and strong construction for increased winch efficiency. Thanks to the superb quality of materials used, winch service is required only every second year under normal use.
