Lil' Legends Kids' Vests
Packed with reliable safety features yet comfortable enough for active kids!
Ruggedly constructed kids’ vests are our most popular and they’re a good choice for kids who spend a lot of time around the water. Non-bulky AirSoft™ closed-cell foam flotation won’t interfere with movement. Feature foam flotation collar that cradles the head in the water, heavy-duty grab strap and adjustable between-the-legs strap to prevent ride-up. Deep cut neck and arms are more comfortable. Infant and child vests are Type-II USCG-approved. Both youth vests are Type- III USCG-approved. The Youth 2 vest, Model 3771284, does not include flotation collar, grab handle or leg strap. Gold/Red.

I bought one of these for my son 20 years ago and now I bought one for his son (my grandson). The collar with the handle is the best idea for walking a dock or fishing them out if they fall in.

It was very well fitting and both toddlers moved well in them, only draw back not rated for boat use, So had to return and get jackets that can go on the boat.

Comments about Mustang Survival Lil' Legends Kids' Vests:
These vests are the best for kids. I have bought the baby vest up to the 50/90lb for two kids. The baby vest was snug, but not uncomfortable. If you have a large baby, get the next size up. Better snug then drown in a off brand made in china piece of junk vest. These are made so if the child is flung out of the boat, even head first, they will automatically float the child upright.
If one complains about these being too hot, then either find some shade or go back to shore, but these will save your child's life if the worst happens.

Comments about Mustang Survival Lil' Legends Kids' Vests:
I bought the infant model for my 5 month old. Although I think it provides excellent flotation, it is difficult to get on, extremely restricting to his movement, and very uncomfortable. The small arm holes make it difficult to get on. The neck is so tight he can't move his head at all. And, there are sharp seams on either side of the neck. End result is a crying baby that can't look around at all.
I recommend instead the West Marine Deluxe Kids' Neoprene Life Vest, model 10981553, which for some reason does not show-up in some parts of the Website (I discovered it in the store). The neoprene fabric is soft and comfortable, and the neckhole is larger without sharp seams so baby can move his head more and doesn't cry. The larger armholes make it a lot easier to get on. The West Marine model does lack the upper back flotation the Mustang vest has (but it still has the head flotation), and the larger arm and head openings are probably a disadvantage if baby goes in the water, but a life vest has to be comfortable and useable. I'll be returning the Mustang and keeping the West Marine.
