Description

Cam Bases

Swivels ride on two rows of ball bearings for smooth, effortless pivoting even under high loads. Use #144 and #205 for mainsheets on dinghies and small offshore boats. #144 has a tall arm for use with bigger blocks. The low-profile 205 is used at the deck level and when smaller blocks are used. The 240 and 241 are used for main and jib sheets on very small boats or for control lines on boats of all sizes.

Installed as main sheet swivel cleat on a 12.5 foot sailboat. Perfect size and function for a small boat.

        Comments about Harken Cam Bases:

Y-Flyer mainsheet cleat. Combined with 40mm Sheave Diameter Block, Single/Swivel. Block needed reaming of hole for attachment pin. Other Harken blocks may have been more compatible. Did not need included stand up spring.

        Works like a charm!

          Comments about Harken Cam Bases:

I installed these on my Int Tempest to replace the clam cleats. I sail alot singlehanded, and putting the jib sheet into the clam cleat was a "fire drill" every time I tacked. With the Harken 240's, I just flip the sheet up to release the lee cleat and tension the opposite sheet as the boat comes around. Simple and much easier and faster. I could have used the H238's instead, and that might have really been better, but I went for the H240's because of single handed the angles are quite different from when I have a crew.
