Comments about XAS Powerclutches:
Be sure to read installation instructions. Fit very well as a main halyard clutch back to the cockpit on my Oday 25. Fit perfectly; works wonderfully.

Comments about Spinlock XAS Powerclutches:
I ran the main halyard on my Catalina 27' back to the cockpit using a couple of blocks, and this rope clutch. It was super easy to install, and works like a dream. You flip the handle all the way up to clear the "tooth" off the line, then rotate it forward a little bit in preparation of grabbing the line again. Raise the main, and a simple slap on the top drops the tooth back down on the line. The main is up, and it ain't coming down! I love it so much, I can't wait to run the jib halyard back using the same set up and rope clutch.
Just be sure to mount it: a) the proper direction (or the line will slip and never hold), and b) with some sort of backing plate. I used marine lumber, and this puppy is rock solid!
