Comments about Garelick Transom Mounting Extension Shim:
I have a 19' Ranger Flats 184, and while I do not need a ladder to get in the boat, sometimes I have passengers who do need a ladder. The transom is such that a swim platform would not fit properly with the trim tabs and poling platform that I have. I bought a garelick ladder, but I was still having trouble with placing the ladder because of the trim tabs. I bought the 3" shim featured here, and it extends the ladder away plenty far enough to clear the trim tabs. I probably could have gotten by with the 2" now that I see how far out the clearance is with the 3", but I guess it is nice to have plenty of clearance. This extension shim solved my problems.
