I bought this rod for Alaska Halibut fishing. It performs well with 80 - 100 lb test spectra line. Quality is as good or better than rods three or more times the price. Stiff enough for 150 lb fish yet enough tip action to enjoy a 30 pounder. The finish will make you pleasantly suprised, no regrets.
