We’ve upgraded our halogen interior dome lights with a clean look, rocker switches and vented housings that prevent heat build-up. They’re hard to beat for general illumination below decks. Patterned glass lenses create muted light. The White/Red models preserve night vision and have a double-throw bulb selection switch.

I was looking for replacement dome lights as the wiring and sockets on my 15 year old lights were wearing out. The light is listed as 7" but it's actually 6 7/8" and replaces the old ones perfectly size wise. The old lamps were incandesents and this one is halogen. Side by side they give off the same amount of light as the old ones maybe even a little more. I hope the quartz are more reliable as the incandescents needed frequent changing.

light is bright, however switch does not work well and does not readily mount to existing two screw mount configuration. Had to drill 3 small pilot holes to mount new fixure. Priced more reasonable than many competitors.
