I've bought so many "fishing" pliers that last a couple of weeks because they rust up and get really stiff, and then need oil every time you go to use them. These pliers can stand over the winter in your bilge and still be like new when the spring comes. Stands up to salt perfectly. When I bought these, they were [$]. At [$], you should have a pair for your trunk, your tackle box, and each boat.

I am renewing all my lures including some I inherited from my father. The pliers have saved me a world of time. I haven't been on the water since I got them, I could see their value in time saved. Be sure all your hooks are split ring attached.

These pliers do the job and they don't rust up. I fish in salt for salmon, an d need pliers that have good features. I also fish fresh water for salmon - and need good pliers for river fishing. These fit the bill for both situations. Even has a lead-punch for dealing with pencil lead
