I have owned this product since June of 2010. I've had nothing but trouble with it from the beginning. One thing after another. The remote never worked. The hand crank stripped. It often pulls my boat half way out of the water and then stops, and has to be hand cranked the rest of the way (my boat is 2000 lbs and should easily be pulled by this winch.) I dropped the ball on doing anything under warranty as when it would happen i was on vacation or getting the boat out due to a hurricane or whatever, and life would go on, and I let the warranty period slip by. That was my fault, but doesn't change the fact that this has been a bad product for me. I passed up buying cheaper brands due to other people's advice who said buy a Powerwinch. I threw away [$].
