Comments about West Marine Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
In open water we use this boat ladder it is not easy to use becuase the stand offs are too short. If we could switch these out for longer stand offs then it would keep the ladder verticle it would be much easier to use. We will have to figure out how to make our own longer stand offs.

Comments about West Marine Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
The flare of the hull is such that the stand-offs are not long enough to push the ladder vertical, so it slopes under the hull and is difficult to climb.
I'll have to extent the stand-offs somehow.

Comments about West Marine Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
I have been searching for some type of ladder I can use on my bass boat to re-board from the water. Cannot find anything. I was at Westmarine and the man assured me this would work for a bass boat. It does not fit at all. Not even close. The hooks are not secure and the support braces are set to low. The ladder is very poor designed.

Comments about West Marine Portable Gunwale Mount Boarding Ladders:
Very hard for a fat guy to climb. Moves around alot. The rubber on the hooks that hang on the boat tore on the very first day. I wouldn't buy this one again. I'll look at a heavier model next time
