Twist'n'Lock Compact Manual Head
Now with a Twist ’n’ Lock safety pump handle that guards against flooding and waste backflow by locking the redesigned piston assembly in place. This reliable design offers the same ease of use and maintenance as the original Manual Head. Crevice-free external surfaces make cleaning easy. The angled pump provides a smooth, natural stroke and the dry bowl selector is top-mounted for easy access. External seal and rod guide assembly can be removed without pump disassembly. I replaced the original Jabsco head with a newer model when it started to leak tons of water backwards and through the pump handle gaskets due to the cost for the parts were almost as expensive as the new unit. After more than six months, the situation repeated... I verified the head internals and the main sealing mechanism are composed of a rubber sheet (i.e. valve) and two iron or high carbon steel "weights" for closing the valves... I do not know why they rate this equipment "marine" with such low quality materials. I do not recommend this equipment at all. It is a waste of money. Do not try to fix it. It's a waste of time.

I replaced a 20 year old Groco HF with this Jabsco in about 2 hours. Was able to use the existing 1 1/2" waste line but had to run a new 3/4" water supply line as the connection on the new Jabsco was about 6" higher than the Groco. Great direct replacement. Great price at West Marine.

We've installed two west Marine heads in our boat in the last year. The aft toilet is a macerating electric Jabsco and it works fine for the most part. It requires an occasional "courtesy flush" to prevent clogging and it makes enough noise to wake up the dead.
I particularly like the Jabsco manual toilet for several reasons. With the large 1 1/2" waste hose, we haven't managed to clog it. There is a handy switch to flush it dry or flush it wet. It is very quiet. We go forward at night and use it so the noise of the electric doesn't wake up sleeping people.

For the money this is the best head out there. Uses very little water, good flush action. Plumb it so you flush fresh water from the head sink and you can flush with a pint of water.
