Rule A Matic Float Switch
Now features an environmentally friendly design
Dependable Silver Tin Oxide contacts have replaced the mercury used in the previous generation of this switch. It features a larger float for increased buoyancy, and a convenient snap-in base that allows easy switch removal for cleaning or inspection. A resilient rubber grommet provides strain relief to the sealed wiring that now exits from the top to keep it dry.

This automatic bilge pump switch is reliable and dependable. That's what you're looking for. These products last for years, and will give you peace of mind. West Marine's shipping was lightning fast. Overall, this was a great purchase.

Comments about Rule Industries Rule A Matic Float Switch:
I have to repeat the other comments that are here, the switch does not last very long, sticks in the on mode and drains your batteries completely. I'm very disapointed in the product quality.

Comments about Rule Industries Rule A Matic Float Switch:
I'm going to stop installing Rule float switches or pumps on my client's boats. I write the install date on the component with black marker. I just replaced this float switch after SIX WEEKS which was replacing the exact same switch. Two switches in two months? Luckily it died between visits instead of while the owner was away. Folks, the LAST unreliable part on a boat you want is part of the bilge system. Don't buy these.
Pros
- Easy To Install
Cons
- Fails in months

Comments about Rule Industries Rule A Matic Float Switch:
I have 3 bilge pumps on the boat. I have to replace at least 1 float switch every 6 months or so. My mechanic recommended that I try a different brand of float switch that was more expensive. It failed in a couple of months so I went back to the rule-a-matic because it is cheaper and lasts longer. Why can´t they make a float switch that lasts for years?

Comments about Rule Industries Rule A Matic Float Switch:
Sticks easily - bilge full of rain water & two dead batteries. Replaced two switches in less than a year. I'm looking for alternative.

Comments about Rule Industries Rule A Matic Float Switch:
Pure total junk, i use my boat commercially, went through 5 switches last year, and 3 this year. The mercury switches last 10-12 years, until the wires turned to dust, these new ones are garbage.
Comments about Rule Industries Rule A Matic Float Switch:
This float switch gets stuck in the upright position all the time and you have to manually put it down by hand. The old rule float switches with the mercury in them were the best these new ones are terrible don't waste your money on this sticky float switch.
