Comments about Caframo Sirocco Cabin Fans:
Bought 3 in 2009 and have had light use. Buttons used to control turning them on/off/etc went bad on 2 of them summer 2011 and the third became erractic in the Fall.
They work extremely well until the button starts to die. Very energy efficient and very quiet.
Can't recommend until they resolve the button failing issue.
Service and delivery comments:
Caframo replaced the first 2 fans but I had to return the bad ones and shipping from Florida was expensive. Am waiting for a replacement for the last fan...first try appears to have been lost.
Customer service very responsive via email.

Comments about Caframo Sirocco Cabin Fans:
Installed in the main cabin for summer in the Sea of Cortez. Great fan, very quiet, but for [$]would expect it to last longer than 10 months (they have a 2-year warranty).I thought the company was Canadian, but the Sirocco fan has a "made in China" label on it. Other (some) models are made in Canada. My fan was mounted on a fairly lightweight bulkhead and the unbalanced fan blade wobbled enough to make the bulkhead vibrate with a fairly loud drumming sound. Otherwise the fan is almost silent. The fan blade is the same as the Compact. The first problem was that the blade slipped down the motor shaft and jammed on the housing. We could push it back but the problem got worse over time. Not long afterwards, the fan began to stop in certain orientations. The failure seems to be in a slip-ring type electrical contacts which allow the fan to rotate through 360 degrees. Haven't managed to fix it. Two other boating friends bought the Siroccos too. Of all 4 fans purchased, all have failed in less than 1 year. Caframo have honored the warranty although one of the replacement fans failed after only 2 months. I really hope they solve the slip-ring problem because the fans are otherwise great. Until then I'll stick with the Bora models which are even quieter but are somewhat less convenient to adjust.

Comments about Caframo Sirocco Cabin Fans:
We now have two of these fans and love them. They are about as quiet as a fan can get, and still do the job. Only notice them at all on a completely still night. If they were loud, my wife couldn't sleep with them on - and at this point she can't sleep with them off! We are totally solar powered so current draw was initial in going to the budget to include these jewels. They don't use anything! The designers were genious when they engineered the power factors. They will point in absolutely ANY direction we want, and then they will fold up out of the way. Unless you are standing them up vertically from the base, do not use the adhesive tape for install. Hanging will need screw mounting.

Comments about Caframo Sirocco Cabin Fans:
I have mounted 4 fans on my yacht. They are a quality product, with an excellent mounting system, quiet operation and excellent value for money.
I looked at some cheaper fans, but wanted the best fan for the job.

Comments about Caframo Sirocco Cabin Fans:
We replaced several good selling competitor's fans that we bought a few years ago with several of these Caframo Fans because we wanted a quieter fan. This is a much better solution for for light sleepers in our crew. This unit also moves twice the volume of air. We are very pleased. Have used these extensively for 3 months in the tropics. I purchased the fans. Randy Repass, Founder, Chairman West Marine
