Comments about West Marine BottomShield Antifouling Paint:
I used the old Bottom Shield product for several years with above average results, some mild growth and a few barnacles after 6 months in the water (northern Chesapeake Bay area). Purchased the "new and improved" version this past season and by July the boat was covered in barnacles, all kinds of growth and slime. I spent a day underwater scraping what was and equivalent to 1 inch thick shag carpet off my hull. Instead of Bottom Shield they should call it Bottom Growth Accelerator. I will never buy the product again, a waste of money and time.

Comments about West Marine BottomShield Antifouling Paint:
Applied product with no prep other than a power wash at a public car wash, rolled on one coat red one coat blue.
The blue color is faded and and sad looking but even after a year on the hard it worked very well in fresh water. three weeks and the painted parts had zero growth, unpainted parts were covered with growth.
