We got a pair of cushions for our cockpit. They're comfortable to sit or lean on and add a bit of color. Haven't and hopefully won't test their flotation capabilities but it's nice to know we have them handy to toss in case someone needs them.

This floatation cushion fills the requirement for a throwable floatation device in a bare minimum standard. You should try all floatation devices to see if they will do what the are supposed to do. That is to save someones life that is no doubt in a panic mode. We tried this cushion and found out it's multiple foam pads fill with water and folded in on themselves when handled in a survival scenario. Bottom line, buy quality life jackets and a throwable device and do a training session with the family in shallow water.

We use this as a seat cushion and not a PFD, but it is nice to have handy to toss in case someones goes overboard while we are unhooking the life saver clipped to the stern rail.
