West Marine floating and telescoping boat hooks are great for smaller boats with limited storage space
We spent years looking for a boat hook good enough to put our name on. The one we chose floats and features anodized aluminum tubing that telescopes quickly and twist-locks securely. Glass-filled nylon head is curved to grab stanchions, shrouds and lines and has a soft tip that prevents scratches. Model 8243123 is a good choice for smaller boats. Our heavy-duty version, Model 7784267, features oversized anodized-aluminum tubes for greater strength and stiffness. It has a comfort grip handle and a fully co-molded soft-tipped hook that prevents scratches.

Great tool, beefy unit. We were hit by big wind in the night. Anchor didn't hold, used boat hook as we got to shore. I got water in it, as I contracted it the rubber handle popped of and, plop, into the water. I am now on a quest to try to buy just the rubber handle.

This is the strongest boat hook I have ever seen and exceeds those that I have let go with other boats that I have sold. It is very strong when fully extended. Recently I used it fully extended to reach a swimmer in trouble and it was rigid as needed.
