I bought this reel to use on my Calstar 7465 to fish cow tuna. It holds an honest 844 yds. of Jerry Brown 100 lb. Hollow Core Spectra, so it has the line capacity needed for big tuna.
The reel is much easier to handle than a 50 class reel because of its smaller size and weight, but it has the same line capacity.
The reel produces more than enough smooth drag to efficiently fish 200+ lb tuna, as most drag setting will be around 25 lbs at strike, and the EXW 30 will max out at 40 lbs.
Its a good choice for big game fishing.
