Comments about West Marine Deluxe Kids' Neoprene Life Vest:
We bought this life jacket for our daughter, who's 16 months old and under 30 lbs. She was too small to fit in the life jackets you find at most stores in our area. We use it on her to play in the ocean waves and walk around in the Shenandoah River, which is only about a foot deep. It keeps her up in the pool also, as she walks from the very shallow part to the two feet and doesn't realize the water depth change!

Comments about West Marine Deluxe Kids' Neoprene Life Vest:
We bought this for our five month old granddaughter and liked it, mainly because we put safety first. She didn't like the fact that she couldn't get her hands in her mouth - it restricted her arm movements. However, I believe that the older she gets and as she grows, it will work well. I did recommend it to a friend for her grandchild and she bought one as also.

Comments about West Marine Deluxe Kids' Neoprene Life Vest:
I originally bought the Mustang Lil' Legends Kids' Vest for my 5 month old as this West Marine model did not show-up when narrowing my search by size to "Infant-Child" (I found it in store later). Although the West Marine model lacks the upper back flotation the Mustang model has, and the larger arm and neck openings are likely a disadvantage if your infant falls in the water, useability and comfort are important considerations. The West Marine model is much easier to get on (with the larger arm openings), allows baby to move his head some, and the neoprene fabric is soft and comfortable on his skin. The end result is a happy, more comfortable baby. The Mustang model made it so he couldn't move his head at all as the sharp seams dug into his neck; it was also very hard to get on. The Mustang model seems safer, but it's just not practical, so I'm going with this West Marine model instead.
