Comments about Dr. Led Mars Dome Cabin Lights:
I needed a new cabin light for my West Wight Potter 15 and decided to upgrade to an LED. This light uses less power and has a red light or white light. I like having the red light because it won't ruin my night vision while sailing. The white light is bright and lights up the whole cabin. I'm looking forward to using it on some trips in 2012!

Comments about Dr. Led Mars Dome Cabin Lights:
The original 1/2 watt model is inadequate to light the galley or dining area, the 2.5/5 watt version is completely adequate. Read the label on the package to be sure you don't get an older version. I have one 1/2 watt model in a bunk area for a reading light, and have two of the larger version in the main cabin. Super low battery draw so you never have to complain about them being left on :-)

Comments about Dr. Led Mars Dome Cabin Lights:
Replaced old 12V incandescent in the head on my trawler. equal or better overall lighting with much less heat. Attractive design with extra feature of two position switch.
Pricey! I'll replace all my old 12 volt lights when the prices get better.

Comments about Dr. Led Mars Dome Cabin Lights:
I installed two lights, port and starboard, in the side bulkheads of the main cabin. The cabin is 74"H X 72"W X 84"L and these two lights provide sufficient lighting. This is true for the white and red lights settings.

Comments about Dr. Led Mars Dome Cabin Lights:
We sail offshore so we wanted a light that was economical on power, yet without compromising on light. I have tested a number of LED lights, all of which blind you to look at whilst not lighting the cabin. This LED lights as well as any other technology, but with less power. I highly recommend.
