Just squeeze the release button (which runs the entire length of the handle) and pull to unlock in one quick, easy motion. To insert, simply squeeze the handle as you place it into the winch.

The power grip handle works great. I have the 8" for restricted spaces and 10" for open spaces. They both do the job. Very sturdy but light weight.
