I have been a boater for over 30yrs and have never found a more veratile product. I have used it on an outdrive to fill in pitting and it lasts 2 or 3 years for that purpose. It sands smooth and can be painted. I have also used it on fiberglass , to fill in holes or deep scratches,it lasts years if applied correctly.

Comments about Travaco Marine Tex:
I have a swing keel and the hole for the hinging bolt was seriously elongated so I removed the whole keel and filled the hole in with Marine-Tex and when it was dry I drilled the hole again and after one year it has done a great job supporting the weight of my 525 lb keel. Based on the specs it should be strong enough to hold much more than 525 lbs.
The only problem I had was that the putty would sag as it was hardening and I had to re-shape it a few times before it was hard enough to hold its own shape.
Pros
- Easy to Use
Cons
- Takes awhile to dry
