My 3rd reef red women's jacket gets worn when sailing in temperatures from 40 degrees to the low 70s. It definitely abades the wind and is easy to add layers underneath. During severe thunderstorms I wear my 3rd reef when walking to the beach to check out the ocean waves and when greeting my students on a wet, windy morning as they get off the school bus. This is my 4th season with this same jacket and even though the dog chewed on the collar, it still performs well. I would definitely buy another 3rd reef jacket.
